Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms is a 2021 American direct-to-video adult animated martial arts film based on the Mortal Kombat franchise created by Ed Boon and John Tobias and the direct sequel to Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and animated by Studio Mir, series co-creator Ed Boon returned as creative consultant in addition in being the third Mortal Kombat film to be rated R by the MPAA. Inspired after the plots of Mortal Kombat II and Mortal Kombat 3, the film centers around the second Mortal Kombat Tournament set in outworld with Liu Kang chosen to fulfill his destiny as the true champion of the tournament while Scorpion sets out to find the Kamidogu artifact for Shinnok as he comes into conflict with the second Sub-Zero.
